The lady that takes care of the small B&B was really nice, speaks good English, the toilets were always clean (even if they are shared)

If you want to sleep in the morning, it is practically impossible, as the B&B is in fact an apartment and all the rooms are very close to one another. The breakfast preparations begin around 6 and from that moment on, it is hard to get a moment of silence.

Extremely clean, staff friendly, next to metro, excellent rates

The walls are not exactly what I would call soundproof. If you have noisy people sharing the apartment that could be a problem (in case you want your peace at night that is). Water boiler is slow and small so make sure you are not hitting the shower right after someone else just finished!!!!!

The doors are noisy

It is a nice and familiar hotel, but it has two problems. First of all, it is not easy to find (not because of the location, that it is excelent, but because the lack of a visible logo of the hotel, situated in a commercial/residencial building).The second is the hot water. It is always a surprise if you are going to have it or not.

The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very, very clean.

The Gioia Romana was perfect for what we needed, The b&b was not top end luxury but also not top end price. It is a great base for site seeing in Rome. The room is basic, we had a room with our own bathroom, however other rooms had a shared bathroom, The shared ones were kept very clean and were not dirty any time through out the day. Our room had a nice comfy bed a clean bathroom, storage for your clothes and a TV (which only had a few channels and the only channel in English was the news channel, but hey who goes to Rome to sit in and watch TV). It is perfect base for site seeing, Literally around the corner (5 min walk from the Vatican, sistine chappel and St peters Basilica). 35 minute walk from the Collesseum, of which it was to hot to walk so we jumped on the Metro for 1 Euro and it was 10 minutes away. Trevi fountain was 2 stops on the metro for 1 Euro. Lovely restaurant on the left as you come down the steps from the vatican, Outstanding food at a reasonable price. Highly reccommend. Would definitly go back and stay there.

Mrs Donata was very kind and friendly! I think she gives the hotel a special atmosphere with her kindness. The room was romantic and comfortable.

There was a kitchen with tea and coffee that we could prepare all the time (not only during the breakfast time). Plates, cups, hot tea - always for you. Staying there feels like at home.

You need to wait for about 10-15 minutes to get hot water. That was sometimes uncomfortable.

Poor tidiness of shared bathrooms.

you have to get up early to have the breakfast when several people stay here, or you will have little left. the bed is big, but not very clean. so is the towel.
